EVERGLOW’s Hauntingly Whimsical Return with “ZOMBIE”

Although they are known for punchy and powerful anthems, EVERGLOW switches things up with their latest single, “ZOMBIE,” released on June 10, 2024. Diverting from the signature girl crush sounds, like “DUN DUN” and “SLAY,” the six-member girl group debuted identical platinum white wigs and outfits for this experimental concept's teasers and music video. 

The single album, bearing the same name as its lead single “ZOMBIE,” contains three tracks, including B-sides “Colourz” and “BACK 2 LUV.” The title track opens up with a whimsical and dark melody, leading to a chorus with a haunting whispering vibe that adds an eerie and intimate layer to the song's atmosphere. The horror-themed music video enhances the audiovisual experience even more as the girls—E:U, Sihyeon, Mia, Onda, Aisha, and Yiren—star as hauntingly beautiful clones in a dimly lit hospital setting. From blood splatters and flickering lighting to mesmerizing zombie-like dance moves, “ZOMBIE” is bound to excite any K-Pop fan craving for the revival of horror concepts. 

From the booming and energetic "Colourz" to the dreamy and sweet "BACK 2 LUV," the rest of the single album showcases EVERGLOW’s versatile musical range. Fans of the group’s empowering anthems will find a liking for “Colourz,” which is reminiscent of past title tracks. However, many fans are excited about EVERGLOW's different direction, showing another side to their artistry.
