(G)I-DLE’s New Summer Hit “Klaxon”

The quintet is back with their seventh mini-album, I SWAY, ahead of their world tour.

“KLAXON”

(G)I-DLE is bringing all of the old-school and summer vibes with this new title track. “Klaxon,” or 클락션, is a Korean term roughly translating to loud horn, typically that of a car. The music video opens with the girls stuck in California traffic, surrounded by cars that align with the song's title theme. Throughout the video, leader Soyeon drives the group around in a convertible on a summer getaway. Soyeon also wrote and co-produced this electrifying summer track.

In addition to the music video, (G)I-DLE also released a performance video of the title track, filmed in Jeju, South Korea’s largest island. For the performance video, the group dances in bikinis on a platform in front of the island’s beautiful water.

B-SIDES

Three of the five members participated in lyric writing, which should come as no surprise to those who are familiar with this self-producing girl group.

The second track on the EP is “Last Forever” which was co-written and produced by dancer Yuqi. Six years into their career, the group sings about dreams and passion that will “last forever” in this mostly English track.

“Bloom” is a light, cute, and upbeat love song co-written and produced by Minnie.

“Neverland,” written by Minnie and Yuqi, is Yuqi’s second producing credit on the EP. Named after their fandom, “Neverland” is a sentimental track dedicated to their fans who they want to fly away with to spend eternity together.

The four-track EP I SWAY is available on all streaming platforms as of July 8. The group will begin their 2024 (G)I-DLE WORLD TOUR [iDOL] starting in Seoul on August 3.
