Feel The “JUSTICE” With Dreamcatcher’s New Release
After their last release in 2023, Dreamcatcher is back with a hard-hitting rock mini-album called, [VirtuouS] - EP. This EP is what you imagine when you hear the name Dreamcatcher. There are five songs on the EP that stick to that signature Dreamcatcher sound.
[VirtuouS] - EP Tracklist:
“Intro : 7’ Dreamcatcher”
“JUSTICE” (Title Track)
“STΦMP!”
“2 Rings”
“Fireflies”
The mini-album starts with the track, “Intro : 7’ Dreamcatcher.” This intro is majestic, and even without words, it tells a story. Just made up of a piano, drums, and electric guitar, we are transported into a different dimension with this intro track. I can only imagine hearing this intro playing before the start of a concert or playing during a VCR, and with the recent announcement of the world tour, I can only hope they have this on the setlist.
The title track, “JUSTICE,” is that signature rock Dreamcatcher we all know and love. The song is a mixture of rock and a synth beat. We all know what amazing vocalists the members are, and in this song, we get to hear such powerful vocals. The belts are something out of this world. It commands the room and draws you in. The lyrics are so addictive. I’ve been singing this song all day long: it just won’t escape my mind. “We build the barrier. Build the barrier. Build the barrier. Fight me. Yes, I’m a warrior. Fight me.” The song has a deep meaning to it and the lyrics show the fight that they have. “Justice makes me fight. Fight.” You can feel the empowerment through the lyrics, and it makes you feel strong.
In the video, we get scenes of art and flashes of different items, like a crown. From the video, we also get to see the members in sets. For example, member jiU is seen attached to ropes. You can see her trying to break free and fight her way out of the restraints. Throughout the video, we see the members in different situations where they have to fight, which goes hand-in-hand with the lyrics of the song. It’s a beautiful music video with a powerful meaning.
The next two songs are both hard-hitting dance tracks. If you’re looking for a track with a more heavy rock sound and dynamic rapping, “STΦMP!” is the perfect song for you. “2 Rings” is for people looking for a more EDM approach to rock. You can’t help but dance to both of them. They are hype, energetic, and so much fun to listen to. If you are more of a ballad type then you are in luck. The final song on the EP, “Fireflies,” is a four-minute magical experience. The vocals are dreamy, making “Fireflies” a great song to end the mini-album.
