Throwback Thursday: Dingo Music’s 100 Sec Choreography Part 1
There was a time in K-Pop when we were blessed with a certain type of video from the Dingo Music channel. Those videos were the “100 Sec Choreography” series. Groups would come to the channel and do 100 seconds of choreography from their released songs. These videos were so much fun to watch. We saw the members of different groups walking from room to room, giving their all to the snippets of choreography. So, let’s take it back and talk about the 100-second choreography.
NCT
On March 16, 2018, NCT appeared on the Dingo Music channel. During that time, NCT was promoting their recent album, NCT 2018 EMPATHY. This album features all 18 members of NCT at the time. During their time on the channel, they danced to five songs off of that album. “BOSS,” “Baby Don’t Stop,” “GO,” “TOUCH,” and “Black On Black.” Watching certain members who are multiple sub-units walk from set to set to perform with a different unit gives you a better look into the concept of NCT. We got to see the difference in music and concepts for each song, and going to look at this video only made you smile when you saw the NCT that we know and love today.
SEVENTEEN
On February 21, 2018, SEVENTEEN was seen on the Dingo Music channel. Our dancing kings came on and gave us a show. Separating it by unit, each one had a separate song. The hip-hop unit had their debut track, “Adore U.” The vocal unit had their iconic song, “Pretty U,” and the performance unit had their hype song, “VERY NICE.” We all know what fantastic dancers SEVENTEEN are and watching them all come together at the end to promote their song at the time, “THANKS,” was the icing on the cake for this jam-packed video. I clearly remember when this video dropped and even to this day, I get excited to watch it all over again.
GFRIEND
On April 27, 2018, the iconic girl group GFRIEND had their turn on the channel. This video is the definition of majestic, just like them. The all-white outfits and bright background make for a lighthearted video that you will enjoy. While there, they performed five of their hits. “Glass Bead,” “Me gustas tu,” “Navillera,” “Love whisper,” and “Rough” are all such great songs, and it is a joy to watch them perform them on the channel. These girls are amazing dancers, and their choreography has always been super intricate. The importance of detailing in hand movements, arms, and footwork creates such mind-blowing choreography that you can’t help but want to learn it as well. GFRIEND will forever be iconic and so will this video.
