Throwback Thursday: The Color Is Black

We are in a new month so you know what that means: a new color! This month we are going to focus on the color black. It’s a mysterious color that has a looming aura around it. It’s a color that represents elegance, power, and wealth. It’s a strong color that holds power to it. The albums in this list carry that same strong presence that the album cover and the tracks can show. So, let's take it back and talk about some albums that radiate that power with the color black.

EVERGLOW - -77.82X-78.29 - EP

On September 21, 2020, YueHua Entertainment girl group EVERGLOW released their iconic EP, -77.82X-78.29. With a jet-black background, the bold print numbers are crystallized. The album has a crystal shaped like a mountain in the center, and silver spheres circle it. The album cover screams wealth, and it is simple yet elegant. The EP is home to four powerhouse tracks that are so much to listen to. The title track is one of their biggest tracks to this day titled, “LA DI DA,” and B-sides, “UNTOUCHABLE,” “GxxD BOY,” and “NO GOOD REASON.” This EP is short but mighty, and the girls Shiyeon, E:U, Mia, Onda, Aisha, and Yiren put their all into this comeback. It’s a powerful EP that will hype you up from the moment it starts.

ATEEZ - TREASURE EP.1: All to Zero

On October 25, 2018, KQ Entertainment mega boy group ATEEZ made their iconic debut. The cover of the album, TREASURE EP.1: All To Zero, is a mixture of black and charcoal gray. The bold italic lettering is gray and in the center surrounded by a bright orange rectangle is ATEEZ in bold black letters. Just like the cover, the album is bold and catches your attention. The album is home to six tracks that gave us a look into who ATEEZ is. “Intro: Long Journey,” their debut track “Pirate King,” “Treasure,” “Twilight,” “Stay,” and “My Way” are all bangers, and this will remain one of the best debut albums ever. Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho are all talented members, and this debut is something that we will always remember.
