Throwback Thursday: It’s Time To Relax
While it’s super fun to listen to fast upbeat songs, other times we just want to sit back and relax. There are so many songs out there that ease your mind and warm your soul. In this list, we will take it back and talk about some songs we listen to when it’s time to relax.
LEE HI - “For You (feat. Crush)”
On December 16, 2020, AOMG soloist LEE HI dropped her relaxing love song, “For You.” This song features another artist whose name is prominent in the K-R&B genre, Crush. The merging of their soft vocals creates a song that is made to relax to. The strums of the guitar and soft beats from the drum create a mellow aura around you. This is the type of song you lay back to, put your headphones on, and just close your eyes. In this song, we hear the soft tones of their voices, compared to the stronger vocals these powerhouses are also known for. It’s a beautiful song that needs to be added to your relaxation playlist.
JONGHAN - “Rainy Day”
On October 14, 2021, I and many others were teleported to another universe with this track. “Rainy Day” is a dreamy R&B track created by singer, JONGHAN. The strums of the guitar and sound of the snare drum gives this more jazz sound to the track. There’s nothing like a good jazz song that just puts you in that relaxing mood. While you are relaxing to the beat, you are blown away by his powerful vocals. JONGHAN is a fantastic singer and his soulful vocals will have you levitating.
Jungkook - “Still With You”
Imagine: it’s raining outside, there’s a candle lit, the lighting is dim, you have a nice book to read, you’re under a fluffy blanket, and this song is playing over your speaker. On June 5, 2020, BTS’s Jungkook long awaited track “Still With You” dropped officially. This smooth, relaxing track showcases Jungkook’s vocals. His voice is backed up by a bass guitar, a snare drum, and acoustics. I can’t help but feel cozy while listening to this track. From the first listen, this was instantly added to my relaxation playlist. It was a nice switch up from the Jungkook that we are used to, and he gave us a mellow tune to unwind with.
