SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan Serenades his “Better Half” in Collaboration With Omoinotake
SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan and Japanese band Omoinotake have teamed up for a song dedicated towards SEVENTEEN’s fandom, CARAT. Released on January 27, “Better Half (feat. Omoinotake)” outlines “Jeonghan’s unwavering dedication to someone special” regardless of physical separation. The song is Jeonghan’s first release since starting his military enlistment in September 2024.
Jeonghan and Omoinotake vocalist and keyboardist Leo Fujii sing this heartfelt song using Korean lyrics. “Even if we’re looking from a distance, I know we will always be the same / Because the memories we’ve made together can never be undone,” the chorus says. The words penned by lyricist Cho Yunkyoung tell of a long-lasting bond between people destined to reunite.
Backed by Omoinotake bassist Tomoaki Fukushima and drummer Hironoshin Tomita, the nearly four-minute song achieves its sincere feeling. The soft playing by the band allows Jeonghan’s and Fujii’s voices to carry the song’s strength. Fukushima wrote the Japanese version of this song, “Better Half (feat. JEONGHAN of SEVENTEEN),” which will be included on Omoinotake’s second major album Pieces. The Japanese version ends on the perspective that the distance only serves as “the prologue of an eternal love story.”* On January 28, this version received a music video showing the song’s recording process. The album came out on January 29.
With SEVENTEEN garnering enormous popularity, especially within their Korean and Japanese fandoms, this release feels special. Jeonghan assures fans they remain connected with both versions of “Better Half.” He is set to be discharged from the military in June 2026. Both versions are available now for streaming.
