Baby V.O.X’s Reunion Continues into 2025

First-generation K-Pop girl group Baby V.O.X teased new content after unveiling a performance video over the weekend. This news comes after their reunion at the 2024 KBS Song Festival on December 20, 2024. Baby V.O.X. expressed their dedication towards group activities during their first variety appearance as a full group since 2010. Their recent variety show appearance of Omniscient Interfering View showed the members filming a video for their songs “Why” and “Game Over,” and re-recording their hits.

A Brief History of Baby V.O.X

Debuting in 1997, Baby V.O.X became one of the most famous first-generation girl groups in the 1990s and early 2000s. The group showcased a tough, girl crush concept that went along with their full name “Baby Voice of Xpression,” which also became the title of their debut album. Baby V.O.X underwent various lineup changes, but settled on their final composition of Kim E-Z, Lee Heejin, Kan Miyoun, Shim Eunjin, and Yoon Eunhye by 1999. Between 1997 and 2004, the group released seven albums and branched out into the Chinese, Japanese, and American music markets. They disbanded in 2006.

Baby V.O.X’s 2024 Reunion

Baby V.O.X performed for the first time in 14 years at the 2024 KBS Song Festival. On December 20, 2024, the members took to the stage with “Get Up” and “Coincidence.” This six-minute reunion stage garnered over six million views as of publication. Like many current performers, each member also got their own individual fancams by KBS. As documented on Eunhye’s YouTube channel, Baby V.O.X practiced for over two weeks to perfect their grand return.

Baby V.O.X’s Collaboration Stage with KISS OF LIFE

The 2024 KBS Song Festival’s theme of “infinity” created many crossovers between veteran singers and new-generation artists. Hip-hop duo JINUSEAN performed collaborations with BOYNEXTDOOR and IVE’s Wonyoung, all performers joined singer Yoon Sooil in a mashup of his song “Apartment” (“아파트”) with “APT.” by Bruno Mars and BLACKPINK’s Rosé, and Baby V.O.X teamed up with KISS OF LIFE. The nine women joined hands to perform Baby V.O.X’s 1999 hit, “Killer.”  Baby’s V.O.X’s outspoken concept of empowering women bodes well with KISS OF LIFE’s similar themes exploring self-confidence. The stage came accompanied with fans shouting in excitement as they waved their red KISS OF LIFE and purple Baby V.O.X lightsticks.

Future Activities in the 2020s

On January 25, 2025, Baby V.O.X appeared on Omniscient Interfering View, a show that follows entertainers behind the scenes through their professional and personal lives. The members said that they wanted to film a new performance video after the support from their 2024 reunion. In addition to this video, Baby V.O.X recently re-recorded some of their hit songs as special 2025 versions. For Eunjin, she said that she wants to hold a concert for Baby V.O.X’s 30-year anniversary in 2027. “I want to do it in Korea, Thailand, and China,” she said, referencing an area where they were “loved the most.”
