Throwback Thursday: Songs That Are So Good Live Part 2

With the influx of K-Pop groups making their rounds across the world, you can’t help but get excited about the thought of, “What could be on the setlist?” We all hope our favorite tracks are on the setlist at a concert, but when the lights dim and the music starts, all thoughts leave, and you are ready to have the time of your life. There are so many tracks that are so good live, and today we are going to take it back and talk about some songs that are made for the stage. 

IVE - “After LIKE” 

Imagine you are at an IVE concert. Everyone is super excited, you are on your feet, ready for the next song. With the lights already dim, you hear that iconic, upbeat intro to their well-known and loved title track, “After LIKE.” You can’t help but scream and sing along to the addictive song. On August 22, 2022, Starship Entertainment girl group IVE released a track that was definitely made to be performed in front of a big crowd. This upbeat dance track samples the well-known Gloria Gaynor song, “I Will Survive.” With a captivating beat, entrancing vocals, striking raps, and enjoyable choreography, this track was made for the stage, and I can only imagine it being played with fireworks and confetti at the end. It’s such an exciting track that brings a smile to your face. 

STAYC - ‘RUN2U” 

With STAYC being on tour right now, I can only anticipate what could be on the setlist. I have been counting down the days until my tour stop, and there is one song I hope made the list: their iconic track “RUN2U.” This upbeat track was released on February 21, 2022, and has since become an unforgettable hit for many K-Pop fans. “RUN2U” is a retro, electro, pop hit with a groovy beat and outstanding vocals. Throughout the song, you can hear the girls sing such strong notes that show their range in dynamics and notes. “RUN2U” is a track that many can sing along to. The chorus is addictive, and some moments call for the crowd to join in—for example, member J’s rap in the second verse. It is such a fun song, and STAYC has so many tracks that were made for the stage that it was hard to pick just one, and “RUN2U” is one of them. 

GOT7- “Never Ever” 

On March 13, 2017, GOT7 released an album that goes down in history. Their album FLIGHT LOG: ARRIVAL is a stellar release with eight amazing songs. Listening to this album is a ball of excitement. From start to finish, you are full of energy and ready for the next track. To start, the album opens with their upbeat, energetic, and catchy title track, “Never Ever.” This track has an electric, hip-hop, and R&B sound that makes it groovy yet thrilling. Hearing this live changed my life. The song has a strong bass that you can feel in your chest, and the sea of Ahgase singing the fan chant with the members' fascinating moments, makes this a moment you'll never forget. This song is perfect for the stage. With GOT7's strong stage presence, you can’t help but stay focused on the stage.
