With the steady increase in releases this year, MEOVV has been on a constant incline. This year alone, the girls have released three singles and their first EP, MY EYES OPEN VVIDE. This week, the girls released their new, upbeat, groovy dance track, “BURNING UP.” A striking track with an electro, synth sound, the girls take their signature sound and turn it into another iconic track. With a captivating Jersey/Drill beat, the girls add this retro synth beat that makes it danceable and nostalgic. MEOVV does a fantastic job of incorporating that hard-hitting sound while also keeping that girl boss aesthetic. They also do a tremendous job of taking that sound and adding breathtaking vocals over it. Throughout the song, you can hear the girl's different vocal tones, which are so captivating. The difference between their lower-register tones blends so well that the harmony is addictive. Another thing that stands out in this song track is their notable rapping skills. The flow of the rap matches the intensity of the beat, bringing the level of fire we needed to the song.
Something MEOVV will always do —kind of like their special touch on the song —is a catchy, eye-catching dance break at the end. The beat is so notable, and the choreography is full of energy. It is like when the beat intensifies, so does the choreography, and it’s a subtle touch that adds to the song's dynamic.
