Kim Lip Stuns in New Single “Can You Entertain?”
After eight years since her last solo release, Kim Lip’s new single “Can You Entertain?” marks her return to the spotlight. This is the first song since her solo debut in 2017 with self-titled project “Kim Lip” which consisted of two singles “Twilight” and fan favorite “Eclipse.” Now, she follows up with an equally catchy track that is sure to delight her fans.
A Long Awaited Comeback
Fans clamored at the announcement of Kim Lip’s solo single, the beginning of solos set to be released by the LOONA sub-unit ODD EYE CIRCLE, featuring fellow ARTMS members Jinsoul and Choerry. Released on October 16, 2025, the ‘80s retro synth beat instantly reels you in and you know you’re in for a treat.
“Can You Entertain?” expands on the story that ARTMS has begun to tell since their debut in May of last year. Kim Lip continues to uphold the symbolism of Greek goddess Artemis with bow and arrow imagery showcased throughout the music video. The visual of her walking towards the camera with striking red hair reminds viewers that this is a new era. The scenes of her in the house with friends and interrogating the stranger who appears at her residence reflect the Greek myths of Artemis, her huntresses, and the forest she protects. It’s a fascinating element that makes the viewer wonder who can and cannot be let into her circle.
Similar to “Eclipse,” “Can You Entertain?” is groovy yet has a much more mature approach compared to the former track. Kim Lip’s vocals are effortless and delicate. Her voice glides on the song without being drowned out by the instrumental. The chorus is simple but effective and blends easily with the song’s overall funky rhythm. The alternating camera angles are flashy in a way that adds to the overall quality of the music video and viewing experience. Add in the upbeat choreography, the experience is elevated to the point where you can’t help but get up and dance.
Kim Lip’s performance in her latest solo single is a reminder of her versatile abilities. Her star power shines throughout and shows she can be a master of any genre. It is definitely a track worth checking out and I hope we don’t have to wait as long for the next solo from her.
