Throwback Thursday: Giving Thanks Edition

In America, Thanksgiving is next week, so it is time to sit back and reflect on the things we are truly grateful for. There are so many tracks that are themed around being thankful, and today, we are going to take it back and talk about some K-Pop songs that are themed around being grateful.
ATEEZ - “THANK U”
On October 8, 2019, KQ Entertainment mega boy group ATEEZ released their jam-packed album TREASURE EP.FIN: All To Action: an album filled with bright music, breathtaking ballads, and danceable/upbeat tracks. One song on the album that tends to bring fans to tears and has us screaming along to the lyrics is their beautiful ballad “THANK U.” As the eighth track, it gives us a good sense of what the album offered before we got to this track. “THANK U” is a song about being grateful for those around you, and you can feel the love from the members as they sing the lyrics. The way the members sing to each other during their stages shows how grateful they are for each other. It is such a touching moment that warms your heart.
SEVENTEEN - “THANKS”
On February 5, 2018, SEVENTEEN released their beautiful mini-album, SEVENTEEN Special Album ‘Director’s Cut’ - EP. On that EP are four songs that had us all screaming along to the lyrics and getting into our feelings, and one is their breathtaking title track “THANKS.” A ballad with captivating vocals and striking choreography, “THANKS” is an elegant way to say “I love you.” The boys do a fantastic job of expressing their thanks to the important people in their lives. Throughout the song, you can hear the boys sing with so much passion and empathy, which makes it even more heartwarming. It’s a magnificent track that we all love to listen to.
GOT7 - “Thank You”
On March 12, 2018, GOT7 released their super fun mini-album, Eyes On You - EP. This EP is so much fun to listen to. Their title track, “Look,” is a well-known, upbeat song that brings people to their feet with great excitement, but there is one song on the EP that brings people to tears, in a good way. The final song on the EP is their beautiful track “Thank You,” a big thank you to their fans, I GOT7s (or Ahgase). GOT7, with their best falsettos and passion, sang a gorgeous ballad that will have everyone in the arena crying happy tears. While performing, the members are singing with their mic stands and pulling pranks on one another, making the audience laugh. “Thank You” was a lovely way to end the EP and will always be a significant gift to Ahgases.
