For the first time since May 2023, VERIVERY has come back with new music. Their fourth single album, Lost and Found, released on December 1, sees Dongheon, Gyehyeon, Yeonho, Yongseung, and Kangmin performing tracks connected with their perspectives. Even with Hoyoung’s military enlistment and Minchan’s medical-related hiatus, this release from VERIVERY shows the group’s commitment to staying together. The group’s contract renewal from October with all six members signaled what many can hope means a full-scale revitalization of promotional activities.

“empty”
“Blame us”
With lyrics contributed by Yeonho, “RED (Beggin’)” tells a tale of leaving regrets behind, especially in a do-or-die situation. The Korean concept of Han (한 or 恨) grounds “RED (Beggin’)” with a complicated mix of sorrow and bitter emotions. Under the song’s YouTube video, its description explains that the single album expresses the Han that bubbled inside VERIVERY during their long hiatus as a “regret and obsession from what’s been lost.” They seek ways to move past this difficult period by finding more reasons to tread forward. With an interpolation of the 1967 song “Beggin’” from The Four Seasons and a fast-paced drum and bass instrumental, “RED (Beggin’)” tries to express Han with a fresh musical combination.
The other two songs of Lost and Found also seek meaning in this next chapter for VERIVERY. With a team of composers including Dongheon and soloist Yoon Min, who participated on Mnet’s BOYS II PLANET with Dongheon, Gyehyeon, and Kangmin, the hyperpop and hip-hop song “empty” brings a unique sound for the group. “Blame us,” written by Dongheon and Gyehyeon, ends the single album with dreamy R&B and lyrics inspired by cotton candy. Overall, Lost and Found represents VERIVERY coming back in the K-Pop industry with a renewed sense of self.
