Best of April 2025

April was a fun month of comebacks this year, gifting us with long-awaited solo returns, high-anticipated solo debuts, and exciting comebacks from already established groups in K-Pop. As we head into a new month, here is a look at some of my favorite comebacks of April 2025.
“Walls Don't Talk” - KAI
From KAI's fourth solo mini-album Wait On Me, the second track "Walls Don't Talk" stands out as my favorite B-side. My body immediately starts grooving along to the song's infectious, electronic beat with "Walls Don't Talk" being a track I can imagine being popular in a K-Pop nightclub setting. From beginning to end, KAI delivers enticing vocals that work perfectly with the song's beat, as well as a smooth rap section and an alluring spoken verse at the end, delivered entirely in English, adding an extra ounce of excitement to the song.
“Raincouver” - MARK
MARK takes us back to his youthful days in Canada with the single "Raincouver," the sixth track from his first solo album The Firstfruit. A mash-up of the words “rain” and the city of “Vancouver” where MARK used to live, "Raincouver" plays with a fresh pop feel, presented through the piano focused arrangement that MARK's vocals gently glide over. Arguably better known for his intricate rap flows, “Raincouver” shines a light on a different vocal style of MARK’s that many of us casual NCT listeners may not have heard often, with his endearing vocals making me want to listen to more of MARK in this style.
“Roller Coaster” - xikers
From xikers's fifth mini-album HOUSE OF TRICKY: SPUR, the fourth track "Roller Coaster" instantly became my favorite B-side. Although not of the rock genre, the production and execution of “Roller Coaster” gives me surfer vibes as if xikers have added a modern, electronic twist to the surfer rock genre. With fun, unique rap styles and silky, smooth vocals, xikers’s “Roller Coaster” is one that you'll never want to come away from, being an addictive track whose chorus will have you singing along before the track comes to an end. Whether you've been a fan of xikers since debut or you are new to the roadY fandom, make sure to give “Roller Coaster” a listen today.
