After a stellar solo debut last year, NCT’s YUTA is back with an unbelievable EP featuring beautiful vocals and hard-hitting rock beats. The EP, TWISTED PARADISE, has four breathtaking tracks that showcase YUTA’s fantastic vocals over a striking mixture of rock and R&B.

The first track on the EP is the title track, “TWISTED PARADISE.” When you listen to this song, you will feel like you are floating. This track is a smooth mixture of R&B and angsty rock, and this style of music fits YUTA’s strong vocals. It’s mainly in English, but there are still moments when he sings in Japanese. “TWISTED PARADISE” is a really heartwarming song. The lyrics are deep and relatable: “I’m shining like a star tonight. Bright enough to guide you through the night. Drowning in your love is like.” This is the perfect song for your deep feelings while in a relationship—that feeling of missing your partner, never wanting to be far away from them. It’s a gorgeous song that will have you ready to sing your heart out.
The music video is gorgeous! What stands out in this video is the bright color contrast. The bright blue, white, purple, pink, and red stand out so much that they catch your eye instantly. There are scenes when YUTA is underwater, floating, and doing a more interpretive dance. The all-white scene where he’s splashing around red paint adds a more artistic effect to the already aesthetically pleasing video.
The rest of the EP is really cool. The next song, “When I’m Not Alone,” is a hard rock track with powerful and raspy vocals. This track is slightly different than the title track. This song focuses more on the rock aspect of the song, and this concept really suits YUTA. His voice is astronomical and holds so much force. The following two songs, “Off The Mask (LIVE AT TOKYO DOME CITY HALL)” and “BAD EUPHORIA (LIVE AT TOKYO DOME CITY HALL),” are two songs that were previously on his debut mini-album, and recently, YUTA performed them at the TOKYO DOME CITY HALL during an unforgettable performance.
