Red Velvet - IRENE & SEULGI Is Back With An “Irresistible” EP, TILT - The 2nd Mini Album

The girls are back and better than ever. After their last release in July of 2020, the unforgettable duo, Red Velvet - IRENE & SEULGI, has returned with their new EP, TILT - The 2nd Mini Album. This mini-album has six majestic songs that are strong and striking in their return.

The first song on the mini-album is the title track “TILT.” Being the spooky queens they are, IRENE and SEULGI have this eerie sound to the track. With a synth and funk beat, the song features a futuristic sound and concept. Compared to their last release, this song retains the quirky Red Velvet theme that they are known for, which is haunting, bubbly, and mysterious, but with an added flair. The added flair is futuristic, high-tech, and contemporary in style. The addition of piano in the song lends a more sophisticated aura to the piece. One aspect that stands out in this song is the girl's vocals. They are singing with a more mellow tone, but you still hear belts, falsettos, and harmonies that are breathtaking. It’s a creative song that shows the range of the girls. 

Sticking to that futuristic concept, the music video is dark, and the girls are seen wearing grey clothing with serious faces, staged in dystopian settings. The music video is very artistic. There are mirror scenes, underwater scenes, duplicates of the members, and explosions. Compared to previous music videos, this one is more artistic in nature. While watching the video, you also pick up on the choreography. The ripple effects, titling shoulder movements, and mirrored dance moves give an added impact to the futuristic concept and are a dance I can see many covering.
