STAYC Returns With Summer Single Release STAYC Special Single [I WANT IT]

With perfect timing, our STAYC girls have released a track that is the right amount of upbeat and pep for the summer time. After having such a thrilling release earlier this year, the girls have returned, and this new track is so much fun to listen to. STAYC Special Single [I WANT IT] has three tracks, and all of them are so good.

With a 2012 electro-pop sound, the girls channel their inner Icona Pop and release a danceable track. The moment the song begins, a striking electro riff immediately grabs your attention, making you eager to hear the rest. The moment you hear that iconic “STAYC GIRLS IT’S GOING DOWN,” you are on your feet and ready to dance along to the track. In true STAYC style, “I WANT IT” is a bright, bubbly, and cheerful song with strong vocals and an addictive beat. The entire song is excellent, and some moments are truly memorable. For example, the rap during the second verse, and the bridge going into that mighty high note by member Yoon. It’s an entertaining track that came just in time.

The music video was released prior to the EP's release. The beach theme matches that summer vibe the girls are going for. Everyone looks stunning in this video. The red, white, black, and blue outfits are all distinct, yet they still fit the theme. The music video is bright and colorful, showcasing the girls having a great time. The scenes of them in the car waving their arms in the air, dancing in front of a fully lit diner, and running around on the beach. The choreography features domino effects, hip movements, and arm movements. It’s a dance I can see many having the time of their lives because of how perky it is. 

“BOY” and “반칙 (Honestly)” are both such great songs. “BOY” is an animated track with a futuristic sound and quirky beat. The lyrics are addictive, and you will catch yourself singing “Boy, boy, boy” all day long after one listen. “반칙 (Honestly)” is super retro, with a nice ‘80s synth beat; this track will have you swaying your hips to the beat. It’s a calming track that you can relax to and just vibe to the vocals.
