Many K-Pop groups hope to reach hall of fame status, and AHOF has started their dream towards the top of the industry. Consisting of the winners of the SBS survival show Universe League, AHOF launched onto the scene with optimism and courage. On July 1, the nine-member group released their first EP, WHO WE ARE.

The Beginning: Universe League

AHOF was formed from Universe League, which aired from November 22, 2024, to January 24, 2025. The show aired as the successor to Universe Ticket, which created the girl group UNIS in 2024. Both groups are managed by F&F Entertainment. Since Universe League used a concept where the show’s mentors personally picked their ideal group members, Universe League functioned differently from Universe Ticket.

Much like a fantasy sports league, the mentors could draft who they wanted on their teams: “Team Rhythm,” “Team Groove,” and “Team Beat.” Those teams competed for the “Prism Cup,” and the winners would secure their debut. After 10 episodes, JL, Steven, Shuaibo, Juwon, Jeongwoo, Chih En, Daisuke, Woongki, and Han emerged victorious as Team Rhythm. The name AHOF stands for “All-time Hall of Famer,” and they label themselves as a global boy group. They have members from South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, Japan, China, and the Philippines.

The Debut: “Rendezvous”

AHOF debuted with their pop-rock title track, “Rendezvous.” Despite being brand new, this song feels nostalgic from its hopeful, band-backed sound. It could easily work in earlier K-Pop generations. The music video has a murky color palette, but the song gives it brightness. It highlights AHOF’s determination.

Universe League mentor and HYBE producer EL CAPITXN proved instrumental in shaping AHOF’s debut EP. He and his music production studio, VENDORS, contributed to all tracks on WHO WE ARE. They perfectly capture the positivity of rookies. The EP’s outro, also labelled “AHOF,” includes encouraging messages spoken by the members in their native languages. With the group’s global strength, the world is ready to see what AHOF will achieve in the future.
