On August 11, idntt debuted as the first boy group under Modhaus, the company behind ARTMS and tripleS. Like tripleS, idntt (pronounced as “identity”) will slowly unveil its 24 members through smaller sub-units. Its first sub-unit, unevermet, came out with a self-titled EP that contains three title tracks— “You Never Met,” “Storm,” and “BOYTude”—and four B-sides.
Starting the day of their debut, fans could vote for the title track they want as unevermet’s “super title track,” a song that will influence the sub-unit’s future sound. Through Cosmo : the Gate, Modhaus’s mobile app for fan engagement and input, the winning track decides what concept unevermet takes on. Though voting ended on August 13 at 6 p.m. KST, each title track stands on its own.

idntt’s Structure
idntt’s 24-member lineup will gradually debut across three units: unevermet, yesweare, and itsnotover. The original plan projected that each unit would debut with eight members. However, unevermet debuted as a seven-member group featuring Kim Dohun, Kim Heeju, Choi Taein, Lee Jaeyoung, Kim Juho, Nam Jiwoon, and Lee Hwanhee.
Modhaus removed former unevermet member Hwangbo Mingyeol from the sub-unit on July 21 following a controversy. The company stated that, once “facts are clearly established,” he will instead debut in idntt’s second sub-unit, yesweare. Due to the short gap between his temporary suspension and unevermet’s debut, Hwangbo Mingyeol still appears in materials produced for their first EP.
“You Never Met”
The title tracks of unevermet’s debut EP represent the three concepts of “coincidence,” “challenge,” and “scar.” The song “You Never Met,” which shares the same pronunciation as its sub-unit’s name, discusses people emotionally connecting despite never physically meeting. This hip-hop song uses electronic pulses that sound like someone sending a signal.
“Storm”
Carrying the old-school vibe from “You Never Met,” “Storm” blends in elements of R&B and electro-pop. As the song representing “challenge,” “Storm” sends a message of unflinching confidence. As unevermet sings about navigating chaos with ease, the song’s instrumental flows harmoniously.
“BOYtude”
After “Storm,” the tempo slows down in “BOYtude.” This R&B song conveys the concept of “scar” through tenacity. unevermet brushes off moments that leave emotional and physical scars through their own grit. “Look up and we fall, cool / with no parachute,” they say in the chorus, displaying their fearless mentality.*
Check out the rest of unevermet’s seven-track EP for more hip-hop, pop, and R&B songs. Its first-day sales of over 169,000 copies across three versions indicate rising interest. With the group’s direction in the hands of their fans, idntt will evolve with their fandom.
