We are back, and talking about the marvelous year of K-Pop: the year 2018. Listening to this year's music is like taking a trip down memory lane. Every song was a hit, group after group and soloist after soloist were releasing top-tier tracks that you can’t help but listen to even now. So, let’s take it back and talk about some tracks from the year 2018.

IU - “BBIBBI”

On October 10, 2018, well-known soloist and actress IU released her upbeat, bubbly track “BBIBBI.” Complete with happy energy and bright colors, “BBIBBI” is a song that brightens up the mood of every listener. IU’s soft, bright vocals are smooth and add to the song's bubbly sound. This is also a song that many remember the choreography to. The moment you hear the chorus, you are instantly up on your feet and following along to the dance. One memorable part is the bridge of the track. The way the entire song takes a turn and it slows down, giving us this R&B sound to the already upbeat pop track. It’s an unforgettable song from an unforgettable idol.

NCT Dream - “GO”

On March 14, 2018, NCT dropped their first collective album, NCT 2018 EMPATHY. On that album is a collection of songs from every unit at the time. One song is from the sub-unit NCT Dream. Their song “GO” was a complete change from the cheerful music we were used to from the group. With an EDM, hip-hop sound, “GO” is an electrifying track with heavy raps and impressive vocals. With a new, mature sound, NCT Dream channeled that NEO energy and showed us that, regardless of concept, they can conquer any song given to them.

SEULGI X SinB X CHUNG HA X SOYEON - “Wow Thing”

On September 28, 2019, four powerful women in K-Pop came together and gave us a track we can never forget. Soloist and Red Velvet member Seulgi, VIVIZ member SinB, soloist Chungha, and i-dle member Soyeon combined their beautiful voices for a retro, upbeat track. “Wow Thing” is a mixture of strong R&B vocals and jazz instrumentals. The strong brass instruments will have you super hype and on your feet. Speaking of being on your feet, the choreography of the song is striking. The arm movements are dramatic, and as they swing their arms and hips, you can’t help but notice how in synch they are. It’s such a fun song, and the girls honestly ate with this release.
