Almost a year since their last EP blackout, CLOSE YOUR EYES returns with a contemporary mini-album to add to their growing repertoire. Released September 30, 2026, CLOSE YOUR EYES broke conformity with 256th Note to expand upon strong emotions from their own musical perspective.

  2. “Drop That!”

  3. “Vibe Check”

  4. “Slowly Bleed”

  5. “Fool For You”

CLOSE YOUR EYES dropped the opener to 256th Note, “Open Your Eyes,” earlier this month. “Open Your Eyes” encapsulates the jazz-forward sound behind 256th Note. The swinging instrumental is layered with rich harmonies and a smooth piano melody. The chorus is addictive with the group’s strong, mellow vocals easily blending with the saxophone backing. The music video is not overly flashy but instead focuses on the strengths of the song itself.

The mini-album follows with “Drop That!,” a funky, drum-heavy track that still carries the jazz flair from its predecessor. It incorporates elements from old-school hip-hop with engaging choreography to catch the viewer’s attention in the music video. The lyrics “Mama I raised the bar” reflect the standards that CLOSE YOUR EYES surpass with each new release.

The B-sides on 256th Note are a mix of sultry, rhythmic, and emotional tracks that elevate the mini album to new heights. The group’s melodic vocals effortlessly adapt to each track they are on. CLOSE YOUR EYES also incorporates bossa nova in their song “Baby Bossa Nova,” a style of Brazilian samba with syncopated beats and a laid-back rhythm. It showcases their evolving versatility and range as they experiment with different genres.

CLOSE YOUR EYES continues to reshape their musical identity while maintaining their distinct sound. The focus on jazz and jazz-inspired musical elements is attractive to new and seasoned fans alike. CLOSE YOUR EYES brings a distinctive sensibility to every genre they explore that makes 256th Note a notable addition to their discography.
