A Moment You Won’t Forget, NMIXX’s [EPISODE 1: ZERO FRONTIER 1st WORLD TOUR] in Maryland
Over the past few years, National Harbor has quickly become a hotspot for K-Pop. Its location, just outside of Washington, D.C., and set against a scenic waterfront, makes it an ideal destination for both touring artists and fans. From pre-show dinners to post-show strolls along the water, it’s no surprise that more and more acts are choosing this venue.
Among those returning to the DMV area is NMIXX, the six-member powerhouse under JYP Entertainment. While the group previously stopped in D.C. during their 2023 showcase tour, this latest visit feels like a full-circle moment, solidifying their star power.
Known for their genre-blending sound and show-stopping performances, NMIXX has quickly earned a reputation as one of K-Pop’s most dynamic groups. Their choreography is sharp, their vocals are consistently powerful, and each member brings a distinct personality that makes the group feel unstoppable. Performing on their first world tour, on their own rather than as part of a festival, gives them the space to truly shine.
The show opened with “O.O” before diving straight into “Phoenix” and “Run For Roses,” tracks that perfectly encapsulate their signature sound. While I always root for artists to perform with a live band, NMIXX shows exactly why I feel so strongly about it. They use the band to add depth and intensity to every stage.
Dance breaks in “Soñar (Breaker)” and “Dash” were standout moments. Vocals, choreography, and the band combined to create performances that felt nothing short of spectacular. The setlist took the audience on a whirlwind journey through their albums, moving from tracks like “High Horse” to “KNOW ABOUT ME,” and later “DICE,” keeping the energy in the venue at a constant high.
Having attended countless shows at the MGM National Harbor Theater and around the DMV area, I can say without a doubt that NMIXX can draw a crowd. It's not often that a tour is completely sold out, and it's a testament not only to their popularity, but to the connection they’ve built with their fans. It’s a connection that the group themselves clearly understands.
During the show, member Lily spoke about the deeper meaning behind performing: how music resonates with people in ways that go far beyond what anyone might expect. A concert, she explained, isn’t just a concert, just as a song isn’t just a song. These are moments where people laugh, cry, and create lasting memories. And in a space shared with just a few thousand others, those emotions feel amplified.
That’s what made the night especially memorable. While NMIXX has the presence and performance caliber for much larger arenas, there’s something powerful about seeing a group of their level in a more intimate venue. Every cheer, every chant, every moment of silence between songs carries weight.
The setlist reflected that same sense of intention.
There was something almost poetic about opening the tour with their debut track and closing with one of their most recent releases. It framed the performance as a journey, not just through a single night, but through the evolution of NMIXX as artists. From hard-hitting tracks like “Tank” to the playful, high-energy “Young, Dumb, Stupid,” the show moved through the eras of the girls and I couldn’t be more grateful to have been here since the beginning.
The night captured the full “color” of NMIXX and if this tour is any indication, NMIXX is only just beginning to show the world the heights they are capable of reaching.
