Throwback Thursday: NCT Dream Edition

Ever since NCT's stellar debut, every sub-unit that has debuted afterward has had equally amazing and unforgettable debuts. One sub-unit that debuted had us all smiling from ear to ear with their very cute food-themed debut. That sub-unit is NCT Dream. NCT Dream is a striking sub-unit of NCT that debuted in 2016, and we have watched them grow into the group that we know and love today. So, let’s take it back and talk about NCT Dream and their growth throughout the years.
“Chewing Gum” - Chewing Gum - Single
On August 27, 2016, almost 10 years ago, NCT Dream released their iconic debut track “Chewing Gum,” a fun song with a bubbly instrumental, danceable beat, and iconic lyrics. “Chewing Gum” is a track that, once it begins, you can’t help but smile and get super excited to dance around. Since this is the boys' first song, they were so young, and their exciting energy can be felt through the screen. As the boys sing, you can hear the bubbly energy in their voices, and the rappers’ flow matches the joyful energy of the song. “Chewing Gum” is such a fun song, and it gave us a look into what we can expect from NCT Dream.
“BOOM” - We Boom - The 3rd Mini Album - EP
On July 26, 2019, NCT Dream released their popular mini album, We Boom. An EP with six songs that many people love to listen to on full blast. One song on the EP that many put at the top of their list is their title track “BOOM.” It’s a groovy song with unforgettable vocals, striking choreography, and a memorable chorus. There are so many parts of this song that stand out, and when it was released, many people had it on repeat: for example, member Jaemin’s “Ice cream” during his rap, or that beautiful bridge when member Renjun hit that high note. “BOOM” is an iconic song and will forever be a well-known, well-received track by the boys.
“Hello Future” - Hello Future - The 1st Album Repackage - EP
On June 28, 2021, NCT Dream released their first album repackage Hello Future, a beautiful EP with five songs that each bring joy to your heart and will have you on your feet, ready to sing along. The title track, “Hello Future,” is a joyous song with impeccable vocals that will have you on the edge of your seat. The moment the song starts, you are already hyped and ready to sing along. The moment you hear that beginning line, “Big dreams and big feels,” you are ready to enjoy the track that is playing. “Hello Future” is one of my favorite tracks by them, and for good reason. This song is so much fun, the vocals are out of this world, and the raps are exciting. “Hello Future” is such a good song and will always showcase the pure talent of NCT Dream.
