TAEYONG is Back With Striking Single Release, “Rock Solid (feat. Anderson .Paak)”

After returning from his mandatory military service, we all wondered what did NCT’s strong leader and talented member TAEYONG have in store for us? Maybe he had stuff already prepared for his return? Maybe an EP, or a full-length album? All we knew was that we were excited and anticipating what TAEYONG would release, and when the single announcement dropped, you could feel the joy in our hearts. 

The track, “Rock Solid,” features a prominent name in the pop/R&B scene. Anderson .Paak is a household name in these genres and has worked with other big-name artists like Bruno Mars. So, when we saw the announcement that TAEYONG was collaborating with Anderson .Paak, we all lost it. We could only dream of what the song could possibly sound like, and they did not disappoint. “Rock Solid” is an upbeat song with a groovy, prominent bass guitar and drums. TAEYONG and Anderson .Paak both do such an amazing job riding the tempo with their verses. In their verses, their flow is very striking, as you can hear each word hitting right on the beat. “Rock Solid” is mainly in English, with TAEYONG contributing a few lines in Korean. Even with the switch-up of languages as the verses progress, TAEYONG doesn’t miss a beat and continues the verse with such ease. This track is so addictive. After one listen, you are listening to it again and singing the song all day long. I’m telling you, after one listen, I was singing “Rock Solid” all day at work. Both TAEYONG and Anderson .Paak’s lines in the song will have you rewinding to hear that bar. Anderson .Paak’s verse was undeniably good. That one line, “Dusting my shoulders blame it all on my barber,” was on my mind all day long, and when TAEYONG hit that, “I was born to be this animal, you see it’s in my instincts (so),” you could tell this song was going to be filled with impactful lines that leave a strong impression. 

You can tell that they really enjoyed filming the music video. Throughout the music video, you can see TAEYONG and Anderson .Paak having so much fun in any setting they are in, whether that be a ship, a hotel, or a jewelry store. The two of them were in so many different scenarios, and you couldn’t help but laugh or crack a smile at the video. When they were surrounded by money, or when TAEYONG was officiating a wedding, or when they were owners of a jewelry store, it was clear this was a fun video to shoot, and they looked as though they were having the times of their lives. 

“Rock Solid (feat. Anderson .Paak)” is an exciting song. Released perfectly for those summer fun times, this was an amazing return from TAEYONG. Check out TAEYONG’s new track “Rock Solid (feat. Anderson .Paak)” for a fun time!
