Throwback Thursday: K-Pop And K-Hip-Hop From A To Z (Letter “K” Edition)

Since the month of March, we have been talking about songs from A to Z, and today we have reached the letter “K.” Finding tracks that begin with the letter “K” wasn’t as hard as one would think. There are plenty of songs out there, so let’s take it back and talk about some K-pop and K-Hip-Hop tracks that begin with the letter “K.”
P1Harmony - “Killin’ It”
On February 5, 2024, P1Harmony dropped one of their most unforgettable albums to date. Killin’ It is a 10-song album with tracks that will have listeners ready to sing their hearts out, rap along with the members, and jump to their feet. The title track, “Killin’ It,” is one of P1Harmony’s most recognizable songs. The track is upbeat, with a striking funk/synth instrumental that keeps listeners dancing. The members' rapping, singing, and dancing skills are on full display, and each member has a moment that resonates deeply with many fans. For example, member Jongseob's rap during the second verse is one many still talk about today. “My root came 2005–” is an iconic moment in the song, just like member Jiung’s dance moves during the chorus as he takes center. When the group performs this track live, it is a moment that many fans look forward to, and having seen it live, I can confidently say it is a performance you have to witness. It’s such a fun song that is a testament to who P1Harmony is.
PIXY - “KARMA”
On March 10, 2023, PIXY released their EP CHOSEN KARMA–a release with six addictive tracks. PIXY is a group that took a dark concept and soared with it. Their music always has that solemn, spooky sound, and they use their siren-like vocals to draw in any listener. On the EP CHOSEN KARMA, their title track, “KARMA,” is a striking combination of spooky, funk, and pop. The verses showcase the girls' funk and pop side. The beat and instrumental are faster-paced, and the girls' vocals are higher-pitched. Once the chorus starts, the lively vocals and sound shift to a lower, spookier sound with a bass-heavy beat and captivating vocals. It is a switch-up that will have listeners reaching for more. It’s a great track that was a pinnacle for the girls and their unforgettable concept.
BIBI - “Kazino”
On April 29, 2020, K-R&B artist BIBI released her single, “Kazino.” With an addictive R&B instrumental, “Kazino” is a groovy song with soulful vocals. BIBI's voice commands attention throughout the song as she moves fluidly between soaring falsettos and deep, resonant harmonies. Her self-harmonies are lush and layered, underscoring the depth of BIBI's vocal range, which is monumental and showcases BIBI’s vocal strengths. BIBI excels at crafting music that moves between uptempo grooves and mellow, swaying moods. Hearing this track live was a moment to remember. Listening to the crowd sing along with her, sing the harmonies, and cheer her on was a great, interactive way to end the concert and make this an everlasting song for everyone there. “Kazino” is a great song, perfect for those relaxing days.
