SHINee Shares “Our Page” In The Story Of Light Pt. 3
SHINee has released the third and final part to their The Story of Light series. With five new tracks off the album, fans are treated to another set of brilliant songs. With this third album, The Story of Light album series totals 15 tracks in total, coming together as SHINee’s 6th album.
“네가 남겨둔 말 (Our Page)”
The title track for this third album, “네가 남겨둔 말 (Our Page)” slows it down quite a bit compared to the other title tracks. The first two parts for The Story of Light were more upbeat dance tracks while “네가 남겨둔 말 (Our Page)” is a uplifting ballad. Make sure to grab some tissues as this particular song is a tear-jerker. Through this song, you can definitely hear the SHINee members pouring their hearts out as they power through the song. In many ways, “네가 남겨둔 말 (Our Page)” is a song that gives a sense of breath and release. “네가 남겨둔 말 (Our Page)” is a song for fans to always remember that SHINee will continue their journey together with them.
One of the biggest takeaways from the music video is that it features the members doing their respective activities, and it seems as if they no longer have the energy or motivation to keep going. In many ways it is possibly a reflection of their experiences after the passing of Jonghyun. Often when we lose someone who means a lot to us, it is hard to move on. For awhile things become stagnant and blurred. But within the music video their pearl aqua blue color that represents their fandom and Jonghyun is lit upon each member, serving as a reminder that they are still there for them, holding their hands out for them to reach. Together, SHINee World (or Shawols for short) and Jonghyun will be the guiding pearl aqua blue light that will continue to guide them moving forward.
The most beautiful and emotional part of the music video is seeing the four SHINee members standing on stage together amongst pearl aqua blue lights and in the center of the stage there is a space left for Jonghyun where he would be standing. SHINee will forever be five members and “네가 남겨둔 말 (Our Page)” is the perfect send-off for Jonghyun, and an honor to his life.

Lock You Down (Special Track)
The rest of the album offers solid tracks, and you’ll find yourself putting it on repeat for days to come. “Tonight” is another R&B ballad track that will leave you blown away from this particular slow jam. There is also an air of sexiness to “Tonight” that will make your heart race and may even give you goosebumps at the several high notes and falsettos. “Tonight” serves as a reminder that SHINee is a vocal powerhouse within the K-Pop industry and their years of experience truly shine through “Tonight.”
With their song “Retro,” there is a slight jazz and R&B vibe that is so smooth and chill, it’s a perfect song to play while lounging around with friends at a party. “Retro” also has a vibe that you can’t help but vibe too thanks to its smooth sound. The next song, “I Say” slows the album back down again as this track is another ballad track. Heavily focused on piano accompaniment, SHINee keeps it simple yet soothing with “I Say.” You’ll surely find yourself getting lost with this ballad while having the biggest smile on your face.
To close out the album, and the true gem for The Story of Light Pt. 3, is their special track, “Lock You Down.” As this is the last track for the series and the album, it comes full circle with another fun, upbeat track. But what makes this last song extra special is that all five members are featured on the song. At first, you may think Jonghyun is not on the track as Taemin has done a superb job of stepping up as a main vocal for this series and executing strong and powerful notes like Jonghyun can. But you heard it right. Jonghyun is featured with the rest of the members on “Lock You Down” and this really is the best track to end with. Throughout this entire series, there have been several allusions to Jonghyun in many different forms, but the cherry on top is closing the album with a song where we can hear all five SHINee members one last time together on a new album.
So what really is The Story of Light? It is the story/journey of SHINee starting a new path together with Jonghyun, who represents their light, leading them along the way. When times are dark and it seems like there is nothing left, there is always light available, and that is what this story is about. Jonghyun’s departure brought a dark, emotional, and uncertain time for SHINee, but thanks to the pearl aqua blue color light (that now has a double meaning for their fans and for Jonghyun) at the end of the tunnel, they came out stronger and closer than ever. SHINee delivers a solid and well-recommended sixth album with The Story of Light series that is highly deserving of praise and admiration. It is definitely an album worth investing in if you have not had the chance to get the album in your music library. We look forward to seeing more of SHINee in the future and will continue to support them for many more years to come.
