LE SSERAFIM is “ANTIFRAGILE” in First Comeback

LE SSERAFIM is here with their first comeback!

The girls dropped the music video for their comeback “ANTIFRAGILE” before the release of their mini-album of the same name. The song is much different from their debut track “FEARLESS,” with this track having a more reggaeton-inspired sound. The song is catchy right away with the repetitive “anti-ti-ti-ti fragile” that starts the song in a captivating way with youngest member Eunchae. The beat on its own is also addictive and keeps listeners hooked from beginning to end. The focus on funky percussion especially shines in this title track, showing the versatility in the group’s growing discography.

The music video features fantastic visuals of all five girls while also showing the world facing chaos as a meteorite approaches Earth. However, the girls remain unfazed by the impending danger, and by the end of the video are shown unscathed despite the meteorite hitting. This is likely a metaphor with the meteorite representing their hardships that they were able to overcome.

“ANTIFRAGILE” is a song that expresses the girls’ confidence and determination through hard times. The girls hope that fans are able to feel encouraged through their own hardships by the lyrics. Other songs on the album that were co-written by members Sakura and Yunjin follow similar messages of confidence, overcoming hard times, and focus. The title track is especially fitting given how the girls have been able to grow since their debut, especially since it is their first release as a quintet. The album follows the group’s mini-documentary series, put together about a month ago, following their training and preparation for debut that Yunjin described as a grueling time.

ANTIFRAGILE features five songs: title track “ANTIFRAGILE,” intro track “The Hydra,” “Impurities,” “No Celestial” (co-written by Yunjin), and “Good Parts (when the quality is bad but I am)” (co-written by Yunjin and Sakura). Yunjin in particular wanted this to be an album where fans can listen to the songs and relate to their stories, which is why she was so eager to be a part of the creative process.
