Triple H

Created by Cube Entertainment in 2017, this short-lived sub-unit brought us a unique style and consisted of three members: HyunA, Hui, and DAWN (going by E’Dawn at the time). During their time, Triple H gave us a throwback sound with their music and released two EP’s, 199X and REtro Futurism. Although HyunA and DAWN are not part of Cube Entertainment anymore, Triple H’s musical legacy and aesthetic concepts will live on, as Triple H gave us an experience that is quite unforgettable. 

“365  FRESH”

This ‘90s synth-inspired track is a fresh track that embraces a summertime feel as it is all about living every day with freedom. “365 FRESH” is a very funky song that will make you want to forget about your problems and dance. The vocals and raps of the trio are all separately distinct, but together they make a powerful impression. The music video is quite different compared to the safer concepts we are used to seeing in K-Pop videos, with Triple H delving into darker adult themes. Each member deals with a dark issue that they are trying to escape and ends up meeting and running away together. 

“RETRO FUTURE”

“RETRO FUTURE” brought us exactly what the title promises, with a groovy ‘80s/’90s style and a hint of that futuristic synth to give us a distinct yet party sound. HyunA’s vocals are particularly addictive in this track, and the repetition of “retro future” really adds to the catchiness of this tune. Triple H is just oozing with sexiness throughout the music video. It shows a house party that is full of beautiful colors and aesthetics as the members leave you drowning in their charisma.
