GOT the beat are Fierce in Anticipated Return with “Stamp On It”

The iconic lineup of BoA, Girls’ Generation’s Tayeon and Hyoyeon, Red Velvet’s Seulgi and Wendy, and aespa’s Karina and Winter is back together as GOT the beat for the anticipated first comeback for the group. A year since the group of SM Entertainment’s powerhouse ladies debuted together with “Step Back,” GOT the beat has made their return with their first mini-album Stamp On It with the title track of the same name.

Fans who watched SMTOWN 2023: SMCU Palace at Kwangya this past New Year’s already had a taste of what the song sounded like when the group performed it on stage before its official release, much like they did with ‘Step Back” the previous year. “Stamp On It” is catchy from the first beat, with tones of R&B and hip-hop instrumentals. The song is supported by strong vocals and rap verses, as we’d expect from this flawless lineup. The lyrics of the song talk about climbing to the top despite competition. The music video emphasizes the visuals of the girls, as well as the powerful choreography that gives each member their moments in the center.

“Stamp On It” fits the theme of experimental sounds just like “Step Back” does. With synth-like instrumentals, and a slower build up in the bridge, it matches “Step Back” perfectly in style and genre. The song also continues a theme of confidence based on the lyrics, showcasing that the ladies of GOT the beat have kept their confidence and aren’t slowing down anytime soon: their strong, sassy, and powerful concepts are here to stay.

The mini-album including the title track features six tracks with B-sides “Goddess Level,” “Alter Ego,” “Rose,” "Outlaw,” and “MALA.” The entire album flows together nicely, with each song sticking to powerful instrumentals with hip-hop influence and strong vocals.
