cignature Returns After a Full Year with “Aurora”

It’s been a long time coming for cignature fans. The seven member girl group has not released new music in 14 months, but the streak was finally broken on January 17 with the release of their third EP My Little Aurora. Since 2021 there have been some member changes, with Yeah and Sunn leaving the group and members Chloe and Dohee being added to the lineup. With the last release in November 2021, anticipation was built for the group’s return.

Since their inception, cignature has always gone with the classic upbeat bubblegum pop sound, and we see that recurring with “Aurora.” With a driving pop beat and higher register notes for the vocalists, “Aurora” presents a bubbly and cheerful track amid the frigid winter. My favorite portion is the key change toward the end of the track, which helps highlight the vocal strength of the group.

The video is as colorful as you’d expect given the title of “Aurora,” and prominently features its namesake in many of the sets. Bright pinks and oranges dominate the color palette. The glittery pink outfits are particularly striking against a wintery backdrop featuring an aurora borealis. The playful and bright nature of the song really shines through in the performance of the members.
