aespa and Their Iconic B-Sides

Since their debut, SM Entertainment's girl group aespa has been on a roll. Since 2020, these girls have released four mini-albums, multiple singles, and have been on a world tour. Throughout that time, we have heard plenty of B-sides that we all have considered our favorites, and today, we will talk about some of those. 

“Lucid Dream” - Savage - The 1st Mini Album - EP

There’s no way I can talk about aespa’s B-sides and not include this banger. This upbeat ballad is a favorite amongst so many. The track has many lines that we can all sing along to. For example, “Falling! Calling! Chasing!” “Lucid Dream” isn’t what many would think a ballad would sound like, and the members took a twist on the original “sound” of ballads. “Lucid Dream” is a beautiful ballad with soothing vocals and a captivating beat. The R&B styling mixed with the futuristic concept created a track many MYs consider their favorite. This track is from their first mini-album and has been on everyone's playlist ever since. 

“Welcome To MY World (feat. nævis)” - MY WORLD - The 3rd Mini Album - EP 

Since the beginning, we have all heard of nævis, the AI figure that helps the AI versions of the members of aespa appear in the real world. We always hear the members talk about her, and in “Welcome To MY World,” we get to hear nævis sing. This track is another favorite of a lot of MYs. Hearing this live was definitely one of the highlights of the concert for me. The song is graceful and almost siren-like, and you are instantly hooked from the first listen. The members are skillful, and the vocals are angelic. “Welcome To MY World” starts soft, and as the song progresses, the beat and build-up create a track that can be in a film or game. It’s not shocking why this is a favorite of many MYs. The video is aesthetically pleasing and shows the connection between the members’ world and the AI world. The story is beautiful, and so is the song. 

“Trick or Trick” - Drama - The 4th Mini Album

“Now you see me, now you don’t.” “Trick or Trick” is the type of song that makes you want to dance along and move to the beat. The track is upbeat and has a strong, captivating beat that pulls you in instantly. Even in this bass-induced track, you can still hear the members' strong vocals. Their vocals are powerful and match the vibe of the track. This sing-along will have you screaming the lyrics at the top of your lungs. “Trick or Trick” is the second song off their recent mini-album release, Drama - The 4th Mini Album, and keeps you excited right after their title track, “Drama.” The song is so much fun to listen to and is a track I would love to see live.
