After an unforgettable mini-album last year, P1Harmony is back with another stellar mini-album that will rock your world. Taking it back to the ‘90s, P1Harmony’s new EP, 8th Mini Album [DUH], is jam-packed and filled with songs that will make you want to pull out your best moves. The mini-album has six songs that are so much fun to listen to, and show the versatility of the P1Harmony members.

8th Mini Album [DUH] Tracklist:

  1. “DUH!” (Title Track)

  2. “Pretty Boy”

  3. “Murmur”

  4. “Flashy”

  5. “Over and Over”

  6. “Work”

Back To The ‘90s With, “DUH!”

I just love how P1Harmony gives a sneak peek before releasing new music. Before the song was released, we got a glimpse of what to expect from the title track. With the TikToks that the members were dropping, we were left on the edge of our seats waiting for the track's release.

Starting the album off strong, P1Harmony gives us a bass-induced title track that will rock your world. The song starts with a striking hip-hop beat, a beat that you gravitate towards from the moment it starts. This rap-heavy track showcases the lyrical skills of the members. Members like Jongseob and Intak shine in this track because of its Hip-hop concept. Hearing their sick flows and their wording for their lyrics shows the immense talent that the members of P1Harmony have. For example, the line when they say, “Potato, patato. Tomato, tomahto,” makes you move your head to the beat. Even in this ‘90s-themed, hip-hop-heavy track, the vocalists still get moments when they shine. The belts and runs that we know and love in many P1Harmony projects throughout their discography are strong and prominent in this song, and you can hear a mixture of R&B in their sound.

Now, let’s talk about this cinematic music video. Taking being superheroes to a whole new level, P1Harmony channels their inner antiheroes and helps the world one citizen at a time. This video is honestly so funny. The way they casually sing and dance like there isn’t a commotion behind them is hilarious. The choreography matches that Hip-hop concept very well, and in P1Harmony style, it is striking and has unforgettable points, like the “duh” hand movement, and Soul’s iconic dance break in the middle. It’s such a remarkable comeback, and the boys honestly ate.

Playing These B-Sides “Over And Over” Again

The first B-side on the mini-album is “Pretty Boy.” Bringing back the Latin/Reggaeton influence like their previous mini-album, the boys create a groovy track that will make you want to sway your hips to the beat. There are smooth vocals in this song that add to the mysterious, sultry sound the song is going for. This was an instant add to my playlist the moment I heard it, and I can see this being a favorite of many P1Harmony fans, also known as P1ece.

The next track on the mini album is “Murmur,” and when I tell y’all this was an instant add, I mean it. This track brings back that '90s sound, but the boys take a different approach. Instead of hip-hop, it is more R&B influenced. Something that stood out to me in this song is the instrumental. There is a strong brass band incorporation that gives the song a hearty feel. It’s an interesting and bold choice that adds a great touch to the song.

“Flashy” is the next song on the mini-album and is a complete 180 from the previous one. It is a bass-induced EDM track, and compared to the earlier songs, this one does not have a retro concept. Keeping up the energy, “Flashy” has a striking beat, fast and hard-hitting raps, and a danceable beat. Something that stood out to me in this song is how, even with a new concept, the boys still stick to their signature ways of making music. When I say that, I mean it’s upbeat, commanding, catchy, and overall really fun. It has all the makings of a great P1Harmony song, and became an instant favorite of mine.

The next song is “Over And Over,” and honestly, I have been listening to this song over and over. Starting with a captivating saxophone, you are ready to groove to this track. Taking retro to a whole new level, we get this very hard-hitting hip-hop track that has extravagant vocals and raps. This is a track I can see being played at their concerts, and everyone is jumping up and down, waving their lightsticks. It’s a fun song that will get the crowd hype.

The last song on the mini-album is “Work.” Adding Hyperpop to the list of genres P1Harmony can do, the members give us this electrified dance track. With an intense beat, the members give us a theatrical rap style with a more talking/laid-back sound. The members are also rapping in a lower tone, which creates this buildup when we get to the chorus. “Work” is a great song, and a bonus is that member JONGSEOB took part in creating it. It’s fun, exciting, and a great way to end the mini-album.

P1Harmony’s 8th Mini Album [DUH] has it all! The members truly put their all into this comeback and showed us their talent. This is an EP I recommend to everyone, and you all should listen to it. So, check out the 8th Mini Album [DUH] for a trip back in time.
