aespa Returns With Striking New Release “Dirty Work”
aespa is back with a groundbreaking new release that will rock your world. Their new release, “Dirty Work,” is a hip-hop, pop, and electro track that will have you on your feet, ready to dance. The track is upbeat and really rap-heavy compared to previous releases from the group, and it’s a new concept that fits the girls . There are four songs on the Dirty Work - EP, and they are different versions of the title track.
Dirty Work - EP Tracklist:
“Dirty Work” (Title Track)
“Dirty Work (feat. Flo Milli)”
“Dirty Work (English Version)”
“Dirty Work (Instrumental)”
With an electro/hip-hop take on the song, there is this hard-hitting beat that captivates you the moment it starts. The girls perform this song with a talking tone throughout the track. There is angst and rasp in their voices, creating a more mature sound to the song. It’s very addictive: with a good majority of the lyrics being in English, there are a lot of lines that instantly get stuck in your head. For example, the beat during the chorus is a mixture of that Jersey drill and regular electro house music. On top of that are lyrics that make you move your head along to the beat: “Sharp teeth. Bite first. Real bad business, that’s dirty work. Real bad business, that’s dirty work. Real bad business that’s dirty.” The girls did not come to play this comeback. The lyrics are so bold, and the flow is fantastic. Some lines just captivate you and make you rewind the song just to hear them again. “Fear in their eyes. I’m always watching. Call me the reaper. I’m knock, knock, knocking,” is a bar, and it fits the concept of the track.
In the music video, the girls truly get down and dirty. While watching the video, you can see the girls in the dirt, in the mud, putting a serious meaning to “Dirty Work.” The dance is as laid-back as it is powerful, just like the song itself. The various hand movements, the small jumps while moving forward, and smooth arm movements will make this an interesting yet fun choreography to learn.

This comeback is really good. The feature with Western rapper Flo Milli is a collaboration we never knew we needed till we got it. Her sound and flow fit perfectly with the song, and you'll find yourself listening to it on repeat. The English version keeps to the same intensity as the Korean version. For those who just want to jam to the fun instrumental, that option is also available. Check out Dirty Work - EP.
