BADVILLAIN Returns With New Hit, “THRILLER”

After a stellar debut last year and an unforgettable single release, the hard-hitting girl group BADVILLAIN is back with another hard-hitting, memorable track. “THRILLER” With a striking hip-hop beat, “THRILLER” is an upbeat dance track with a bold rap line, vocals, and choreography. From previous releases, we were able to hear just how powerful BADVILLAIN is in every category, and in “THRILLER,” they did not disappoint. 

The girls start the song with a hip-hop-influenced beat, and once it begins, you can’t help but move your head along. There is a slight synth sound that you can hear in the song that will have your attention locked, and the steady tempo will have you jamming along to the beat. The girls sing and rap in this lower tone, which, compared to previous tracks, gives this song a more laid-back vibe than previous ones, even while being a pretty upbeat track. The girls' flow is out of this world. The way each word lands on a beat is satisfying, and even when they rap in a more staccato tempo, they still stay on beat. Something that really stands out in this song is the contrast between the singers and rappers. While the rappers have noticeable verses that fit the concept of the song, the vocalists' lighthearted and bright voices are so different, and it’s such a great contrast. The lyrics to this song are very addictive. After one listen, you'll find yourself singing along to the chorus and humming it all day: “I’m stepping in the vibe so killer. And I’m scene killer. I’m the THRILLER.”

The choreography is another standout feature in this song. BADVILLAIN’s choreography is always so good and so much fun to do. Like their previous tracks, for example, “YAH HO (BADTITUDE)” or “ZOOM,” the choreography is always full of power.  The choreography features a lot of hip movements, chair movements, and intense intersecting line movements. It’s such a fun dance, and when the backup dancers join in, it makes it even more interesting. “THRILLER” is such a fun track, and these girls did not disappoint.
