Windy weather couldn’t stop fans from lining up to see UNIS on their first tour in New York City.
EverAfter (the fandom) gathered inside Racket NYC, an intimate venue in the city’s Chelsea district that has housed talent such as Crystal Kay, Louis Tomlinson, and SF9. Now it’s UNIS’s turn to take center stage.
UNIS brings a cheery and cohesive energy to the stage that makes you want to dance with them. Kicking off with “SWICY,” a fan favorite, the crowd was jumping from the first beat. Their captivating showcase truly showed their versatility in their music, performing tracks such as “SUPERWOMAN,” “DDANG!,” and “Good Feeling.” From the front to the back of the venue, EverAfter sang, danced, and cheered the girls on every step of the way.
The cheery vibes continued when the group broke off into unit stages. The group’s maknae line—consisting of Yoona, Kotoko, Yunha, Elisia, and Seowon—performed “Baby” by Justin Bieber and the crowd erupted. EverAfter sang along to the classic hit while Yunha and Elisia showed their charming rap skills. It was a fitting stage to show UNIS’s endearing side compared to the next stage. UNIS’s unnie line—Hyeonju, Nana, and Gehlee—brought a more mature presence to the stage, performing a cover of “Paint the Town Red” by Doja Cat. The girls oozed charisma and confidence with a dance break by Hyeonju, a further testament to the group’s overall ability to adapt to all genres of music.
UNIS wasted no time in keeping the good vibes going. The group returned as a whole to perform “Dopamine” and “Curious,” commanding the stage with their fast-paced energy. Their cover of “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen and surprise performance of “TT” by TWICE were a blast to watch as EverAfter joined them in singing every lyric.
This show in New York City was an important milestone in their career as the members shared emotional sentiments. They expressed gratitude for being able to perform in the Big Apple, thanking EverAfter for supporting them since the beginning. EverAfter passed pink glowsticks up to the stage, a symbol of the connection between UNIS and their fans. As UNIS left the stage, EverAfter patiently waited for an encore. Cheers erupted throughout the venue when the group returned sporting matching T-shirts. The show closed with a touching performance of “See you in my dream” with EverAfter holding their flashlights high.
New fans and seasoned EverAfter alike are in for a memorable experience. New York wasn’t their first stop and it surely won’t be their last. UNIS continues to grow and we are excited to see what awaits them in the future.
