YOUNITE 2026 K-TOUR in CANADA Delivers Local and International Performances in Vancouver
After icy weather in Toronto and Montreal, intense rainfall in Vancouver couldn’t stop YOUNITE from completing their first-ever Canada tour on March 19. Eunho, Steve, Hyunseok, Woono, DEY, Kyungmun, and Sion performed the last concert on their YOUNITE 2026 K-TOUR in CANADA with smiles on their faces. Though co-leader Eunsang couldn’t attend while on a medical-related hiatus, the members made the most of their time in the country. The tour’s final concert at Vancouver’s Hollywood Theatre featured local openers, songs spanning the group’s career, and covers for a unique experience.
Local performers from Flying Dance Studios and dance crews GENMIX and Queue Up opened, a rarity for K-Pop shows, by covering choreographies by YOUNITE and other K-Pop artists. Their performances of songs like “BOMBA” and “TASTE” previewed what the night had in store.
YOUNITE took to the stage with “GEEKIN” and “TASTE” before launching into introductions. While the members expressed their bittersweet feelings towards the final concert of their Canada tour, they wanted to end it in a memorable way. YOUNITE brought a part of their 2025 Brazil tour to Canada with their first cover of the night, “Acorda Pedrinho” by Brazilian band Jovem Dionisio. The Latin theme continued with YOUNITE’s single “BOMBA” that includes Korean and Portuguese lyrics.
Steve chuckled at how the crowd cheered loudly when DEY’s parts came up (understandably, as his raps felt incredibly powerful live), and asked them to give more love to all the members. The next selection of songs represented a survival show where YOUNITE gained a lot of attention and praise: Mnet’s ROAD TO KINGDOM : ACE OF ACE from 2024. They performed a combined cover of ENHYPEN’s “Bite Me” and aespa's “Armageddon.” YOUNITE’s reimaginings of these songs still sound and look incredible.
A medley of dance covers followed suit as the members took on short sections of songs like ENHYPEN’s “Knife” and LE SSERAFIM’s “SPAGHETTI.” The amount of covers ended up being a double-edged sword for the show. Covers provide an effective way to showcase an artist’s skills with beloved songs, but YOUNITE owns plenty of original tracks they can draw from. They debuted in 2022 and currently have seven EPs and two single albums. Despite this, covers of MONSTA X’s “Shoot Out” and BTS’s “DNA” happened before YOUNITE returned to their discography.
The song “GASOLINE” helped focus the show back on the group and its fandom, YOUNIZ. As Steve told the audience that YOUNITE needed to fly back to South Korea the next day, a loud and desperate “No!” interrupted. This interaction earned some laughs from the crowd and the group. He promised that they were preparing “something new,” likely for their summer performances at the 2026 Toronto Korean Festival.
“Rocky Steady,” “Pump Your Sneakers,” and “Waterfall” prepped the audience for a “waterfall” of emotions. After snapping a group photo, where YOUNITE held the Canadian flag, they settled into the final song of the night: “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction. While “What Makes You Beautiful” is iconic, it would have felt more meaningful to see YOUNITE end the night with a song of their own. Swapping in “GASOLINE” (or any other YOUNITE song about connections, like “Bestie”) for the encore could tie it all together.
The YOUNITE K-TOUR in CANADA symbolized another part of the group’s push towards an international appeal. The inclusion of local dance crews as openers and multilingual covers showed a diversified focus. However, the short setlist characterized the concert like a scaled back showcase. With its one hour runtime—excluding openers—and covers spanning half of the setlist, YOUNITE’s Vancouver concert left a desire for more focus on their individuality. The group’s amazing energy would have benefited more from a show that completely embraced YOUNITE’s vast discography.
Nevertheless, YOUNITE should feel accomplished for finishing their Canada tour. Their earnest emotions shined through in their performances. After shows in South Korea, Brazil, India, and Canada over the last year, YOUNITE continues to expand at this point in their career. The world is watching to see where their travels take them next. The Kraze extends their thanks towards Para Music and J&B Entertainment for this review opportunity.
