NCT WISH’s “Ode to Love” is a Beautiful Release

After eight single releases, one EP, three mini-albums in Korean, and one Japanese mini-album, NCT WISH has finally released their first full-length album, Ode to Love. The album is jam-packed with bright songs that make you smile as you listen. The members, Sion, Riku, Yushi, Jaehee, Ryo, and Sakuya, know how to do a cute concept, and in this album, they did not disappoint.

When their comeback was announced, everyone was excited to see what this release could sound like. Their previous mini-album featured songs that had you singing your heart out while also letting you feel the boys' playful energy. When they released their B-Side “Sticky” as a prerelease, we all thought NCT WISH was taking a new turn. “Is this what the concept of the album is?” was the question on everyone's minds. Are they moving away from the cute concept they excel in for something new this time? In reality, they were showing us they could conquer any concept given to them.
The title track, “Ode to Love,” is an upbeat track with a bubbly beat, high-energy vocals, and an adorable concept. The song is a giddy track that showcases NCT WISH's signature cuteness. Throughout the song, the members can be heard singing in a higher tone, giving us this feeling of lightheartedness. As you watch the music video, you can see the coquette theme they were going for. The fairy concept ties in perfectly with the forest scenery. The members look majestic, and the song's flowy, joyful, carefree attitude and vibe are evident in their vocals. The boys' high-spirited, youthful vocal tones make this song exciting to listen to. The song's chorus is so much fun: the “Du, du, ru, du, du, du, ru, du-” will be stuck in your mind from the first listen. It is upbeat and very addictive. The members did an amazing job with this song. Sticking to that jolly WISH sound, “Ode to Love” is a beautiful song that will have you smiling from ear to ear.
