The atmosphere was electric when CORTIS arrived in New York City for the second stop of their U.S tour. Fresh off their performance at Lollapalooza, COER (the fandom) packed the sold-out Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden to experience an unforgettable concert. The five-member group - consisting of Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho - encouraged fans to put their phones down and live in the moment.
The energy in New York City was palpable before the group even took the stage. When the members came out and the intro to “YOUNGCREATORCREW” began to play, the floor seemed to shake from the accelerating bass. COER jumped and sang along with CORTIS as they performed hard-hitting tracks such as “FaSHiON,” “REDRED,” and “ACAI.” The group maintained stable vocals while balancing intense choreography. CORTIS proved how comfortable they were on stage with their confidence and engagement with the crowd. Despite Keonho being injured and unable to perform the choreography, he does not look out of place while engaging with COER at the side of the stage. Not even stage lighting issues could stop them from remaining professional and continuing to perform for the crowd.
The energy that CORTIS brought was reciprocated by COER when they slowed down the setlist. COER sang along to “JoyRide” and “Blue Lips” while a sea of light sticks lit up the venue. It was an endearing moment that reflected the connection between CORTIS and their fans.
The show transitioned into a more intimate performance from its flashier first half. CORTIS reiterated the message of putting your phone down as they performed reimagined versions of some of their earlier songs with remixes, replays, and extended versions. COER sang every line of their latest release “MOTION” featuring Juicy J, whom CORTIS brought out for their set at Lollapalooza. The night came to a close with heartfelt speeches from the members and a lengthy encore to leave COER satisfied.
CORTIS created a distinctive space for their fans to fully immerse themselves into the concert experience. With a shorter discography, CORTIS made the most of their concept to give fans the opportunity to capture memorable highlights while living in the moment. Even though they debuted only a year ago, CORTIS put on a show as if they were veterans. It’s no surprise how much they have accomplished already with more milestones still awaiting them ahead.
