ARTMS Proves the Sky’s the Limit with 2nd Mini-Album
Over a year has passed since ARTMS’s first mini-album <Club Icarus>, and now they’re back with a hyperpop-heavy follow-up fittingly titled <Hyper-Ego>. Released August 7, 2026, ARTMS continues to evolve on their journey and showcase their limitless potential.

ARTMS released “Born Stunner” two weeks prior to the mini-album’s official release. It is a bold and divisive change from ARTMS’s usual tracks, yet holds its own without feeling out of place. The striking contrast takes the tracklist to a whole new level to further establish ARTMS’s musical identity. The music video is visually arresting, blending video game graphics with powerful fighting imagery. The track shifts unpredictably from heavy bass lines to cascading synth progressions. It’s a daring prerelease that doesn’t necessarily paint the whole picture, but ties together the rest of the mini-album.
Despite Haseul not being able to participate in this comeback’s promotions, her presence on the album does not go unnoticed. Haseul opens “From Wings to Soul,” emphasizing the bond between the members that is evident even when they all cannot physically be together. <Hyper-Ego> strays away from the formulaic expectations of what an ARTMS project is supposed to sound like. Just when the album seems to lean toward a certain genre, it pivots in an unexpected direction. “Blue Blood” is fast-paced, bright, and bubbly, making it an ideal summer anthem. The visualizer complements the song well with its bright, upbeat aesthetic. The mini-album pivots toward brash hip-hop with “Icarus Gang” before diving back into its hyperpop roots with "Hyper Crush" and the glitchy closer "Pixel Memory.”
<Hyper-Ego> feels almost surreal in the realm of ARTMS’s discography. It’s bolder than their previous installment yet fits perfectly within their developing image. Their use of hyperpop to advance their sound is perfect for listeners who are looking for an edgy boost to their summer playlist.
