Title Track: “Fact Check”
WOW! NCT 127 has done it once again and released a title track that is just so good. NCT is known for their experimental beats, and it works perfectly for the concept of “Fact Check.” While watching the video, I felt like this is what NCity would look like. The futuristic vibe of this song matches the sound of the song.
The vocals and rapping skills were top-tier, as usual when it comes to NCT. The rap had me moving my hips along with the beat, and the way they showcase the vocalist in a rap-heavy track is just *chef kiss*. I think my favorite part of this song for me is the bridge. The harmonizing done at the high note is heavenly, and I had to rewind it to hear that magical high note that member Taeil does. The choreography is so addictive, and knowing that leader Taeyong took part in the creation of the choreography brings a huge smile to my face and many fans as well.
“Space”
TURN IT UP! This jazz-infused track screamed retro, and I lost my mind. It’s super upbeat and such a fun track to dance to. When I heard the rappers sing, it made me so happy. It’s always a joy to hear the rappers sing, and all of their voices merge with the joyful jazz vibe we were getting from the track. It’s a favorite of mine from the album, for sure.
“Parade”
Would it be wild to say that this is another favorite of mine? The way they ride the beat on this song is superior. This track was composed by many talented composers, one being a big name in the hip-hop scene K.A.A.N. “Parade” is NCT to the core and reminds me of another NCT 127 B-Side, “Skyscraper.” I think my favorite part of this song would be the second verse. When they slightly cut the beat, we got to hear their fantastic rap skills, and I couldn’t stop dancing.
“Angel Eyes”
Does “Angel Eyes” sound like a Disney song to anyone else? The moment I heard the song began my first thought was, “This sounds like a Disney Original song.” Overall this song is lighthearted and cute. This is another track where the rapper's vocals are put on full display. When I watched the video and saw member Johnny singing, I lost my mind. “Angel Eyes” was released before the album dropped, and I was so hyped to hear the rest of the album. The video is very heartwarming. Seeing them on the roof, together and smiling, made me happy. It’s another great song that deserves so much hype.
“Yacht”
“Yacht” makes me feel rich. This song just has such a fancy vibe to it, I just can’t explain the feeling. It also reminds me of a song you would hear at a cookout. If there is ever a video for this track, I can picture them on a yacht, partying, eating, and just jamming to the song. The vocals are smooth and very relaxing. “You da one, one, one. You da one” is what I’ve been saying all day long. The song is super addictive, chill, and overall really laid back.
“Je Ne Sais Quoi”
Okay…this is another favorite of mine. It’s just really good. When they started rapping, I couldn’t help but move my head to the beat, and move my head to the flow of the rap too. This is another track that is just so smooth. I instantly started swaying to the flow of the chorus. Then boom, the second verse started and member Mark started going hard in his rap. “Je Ne Sais Quoi” really does have that special factor to it that makes it so different from the other songs on the album. To me, it has all of the qualities to make it a great song.
“Love is a beauty”
This is my number-one song! “Love is a beauty” is the R&B, 90s love song we were waiting for. Beautiful, magical, and soulful are only a few of the words I have that can describe this track. NCT 127 definitely went into that studio with a mission, which was to make a top-tier R&B song, and they did. The runs in this song made me love it even more. Executing a run can be very difficult if not done right, but NCT 127 did it with no hesitations. I had to grab my head because of how good this song is. Everything about this song is beautiful. The runs, the belting, the raps, literally everything about this song is perfect.
“Misty”
We got another R&B banger on our hands, and honestly, this is another favorite of mine. Also, it’s a ballad! When I hear this song I picture it being played on a rainy night. The song overall has such a calming vibe to it, and I love how heightened their vocals are. NCT is already known for its fantastic and when I heard them sing this I levitated. I felt like I was in the clouds. I really like this song and would love to hear it live.
“Real Life”
I mean what a way to end the album! Was anyone else getting LAUV vibes from this song? I definitely did. “Real, real, real. Real, real, real life, life” is so much fun to sing! I actually really love this song. It's an upbeat, feel-good track that will put a smile on any listener's face. It’s such a good way to have the album come to a close.
NCT 127 has done it once again with an unskippable album. I truly enjoyed this album and I can tell they really put their all into it. As an NCTzen, I am going to love anything they put out, and I truly loved this album. I'm so proud of them and I’m pretty sure many NCTzen’s are as well.
