STAYC Gives Us A New Sound With Ballroom-Inspired Release, “BEBE”
In the words of the girls themselves, “STAYC girls! It’s going down!” Returning with a different sound, the High Up Entertainment bubbly girl group STAYC dropped their recent EP, S. With three songs, we are transported to a fun house party/ballroom event. It’s a fun, upbeat EP with super enjoyable tracks.

The EP starts with the title track, “BEBE.” Incorporating that ballroom and voguing music, the track is high energy and fun to listen to. When the song starts, you are immersed in this addictive beat that is more staccato when it starts but then builds up. In the verses, the girls can be heard singing in falsetto and this deeper tone. Compared to previous STAYC releases, this track is more on the bold side. While they have been switching between more cutesy and bold concepts, this one is a ball of fire and shows the true divas the girls are. You can’t help but sing along while listening. “STAYC girls, it’s going down. Don’t wanna be a bebe. You know I’m sick of lying. Don’t wanna be a bebe. You know I’m sick of lying.” This song will make you want to jump to the center of the dance floor and put on your best performance.
The stunning music video captures the girls exuding confidence as they strut down the runway in an iconic model-like fashion. In the choreography, you can see that they incorporated those ballroom movements. There are striking arm and hand movements well-known in voguing that the girls use in their dance. It’s a fun comeback, and the girls ate it up.

I recommend that everyone listen to this EP, S. Itis a bold new sound for STAYC, and they did not disappoint. The last two songs, “DIAMOND” and “PIPE DOWN,” are both upbeat pop/electric dance tracks. Still sticking to that ballroom sound, “DIAMOND” and “PIPE DOWN” are both high energy and use that R&B/funk melody. The girls sound amazing in the songs, and they are so much fun to listen to. There isn’t a moment during this release where you are not on your feet. So, check out S to feel like the true diva you are.
