For a limited time, gamers can now experience aespa-themed collaborations in Street Fighter 6 and PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS. Though the games cater towards different genres, both collaborated with aespa shortly after the release of the group’s single “Dirty Work.” So, how did these popular games integrate aespa into their worlds?
Street Fighter 6 Event
On July 4, Street Fighter 6’s online lobby transformed into an aespa fan gathering. Until August 4, the game’s battle hub will feature aespa music videos playing on screens around the lobby. The game’s new update also includes a new aespa-inspired costume for character Juri Han, soloist and aespa’s companion nævis as an in-game commentator, and aespa-related cosmetic options.
The new costume for Juri, the series’ prominent Korean character who fights using taekwondo, combines her spider motif with aespa’s associated purple and blue colors. She also wears a hair accessory shaped like aespa’s metallic emblems. This purchasable costume is available through the Street Fighter 6 in-game shop for 350 FC (Fighter Coins) until July 3, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
Players can show their love for aespa through functions for their in-game “device,” a tool that gives players quick access to their items like their messages, photos, and gear. With the collaboration, they can snap pictures using special “Supernova” photo frames, customize their device with special wallpapers, and customize profiles with “Supernova” or “Drama” titles, which are backgrounds that show up on each player’s online tag. aespa photo frames, device backgrounds, and titles are available until August 4, 2025, at 7:59 p.m. PDT.
nævis also joins in on the fight as a selectable “color commentator,” who will audibly provide the play-by-play as matches progress. Normally reserved for real-life professionals with connections to the series, nævis’ new role marks the first virtual commentator and first Korean-language commentator; Street Fighter 6 producer Shuhei Matsumoto and Street Fighter 6 director Takayuki Nakayama mentioned in an interview that nævis’ inclusion helped fulfill a popular request for “Korean-language automated commentary” in the game. Though the interview mentioned multiple voice lines were recorded in English, Japanese, and Korean, the game’s credits do not currently mention specific voice actresses for nævis.
PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Events
On July 9, the first portion of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS’ collaboration with aespa went live on PC. As a battle royale-style shooter game, players will be able to explore maps while decked out in aespa-inspired gear and costumes. While waiting for a round to start, players can strike dance moves on the lobby’s emote stage, now updated to support snippets of “Next Level,” “Supernova,” “Whiplash,” “Dirty Work,” and aespa’s PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS collaboration song “Dark Arts.” “Dark Arts” was released in full on July 15 and will receive its first performance on July 27 during the PUBG Nations Cup. The update will go live for the game’s console version on July 17.
To obtain aespa costumes and items inspired by “Whiplash,” head to the workshop to craft them. Though these cost in-game tokens, the game will hold multiple events throughout July and into August with chances to receive more rewards. Each event for this collaboration will end at different times, so check out PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS’ news release for specific details.
