The Current Music Careers of Weeekly’s Members

When a group’s contract with their original company runs out and no signing news comes out, navigating this gray era between inactivity and disbandment proves difficult for both the artists and their fans. Weeekly, remembered for their youthful and cheerful title tracks that kept spirits up during the COVID-19 pandemic, recently passed one year since terminating their contracts with IST Entertainment. Despite not finding a new home in a separate company, Weeekly’s members have continued to make music and find their way as individual artists.

Last Group Song: “Daily”

Though Weeekly’s last EP, Bliss, came out on July 9, 2024, the members put out a song after their contract termination. Credited under their legal names, they came back for the ballad “Daily.” Lee Soojin, Kim Jimin (Monday), Park Soeun, Lee Jaehee, Han Jihyo (Jihan), and Cho Hyewon (Zoa) worked together with music production studio NiNE MUSIC, whose staff composed and wrote “Dance Dance Dance!” from Bliss. Released on April 25, 2025, this song assures Weeekly’s fans that their bond will remain strong. “You are my Daileee until the end,” they sing in the chorus.

LUNEDI: “FACE MYSELF”

Before launching a new solo career last year, main vocalist and main dancer Monday rebranded herself as LUNEDI. Following the single “New Things” in October 2024, which she released while in Weeekly, she kept pursuing music through “FACE MYSELF.”  “New Things” talks about escaping from a repetitive, unsatisfying life to achieve higher potential—in “FACE MYSELF,” LUNEDI runs with that message to face her fears.

She wants to create her own identity without feeling trapped in a box by the past. This song, which came out on December 7, 2025, started to establish a new image for her. Its rock instrumental tells listeners that LUNEDI is coming back with intense energy. She further promoted the song by releasing the Japanese version of “FACE MYSELF” and its physical KiTalbum on February 19.

Lee Jaehee: Single Projects

Lee Jaehee has kept busy with songs through JJ Music Group, founded and led by singer-songwriter GK. She first worked with the company in November by featuring on rapper Chu Seojun’s “Emptiness,” from his To Be Honest EP. Her soft and sweet voice contrasts nicely with Chu Seojun’s deeper tone on this rock song.

She joined JJ Music Group once again for their SOFA (“Sound of Fresh Artists”) IP project in January. Through this initiative, which creates original music as a “long-term” content platform without a fixed selection of singers, she collaborated with former ANS member Dayoung and former eite member Yujin for “추억속에서 (Throwback Memories).” Jaehee starts the first section that sets the regretful, longing tone: “Even if you forgot me / Even if you threw us away / I didn’t, no / I still remember you.” These two singles allow Jaehee to explore more sounds and opportunities apart from her Weeekly days.*

Han Jihyo: “You Loved Me First”

Before debuting solo, Han Jihyo opened a SoundCloud account under the handle Fairy Blush in December. She uploaded demos for the songs “이거 참…(Truth)” and “Memories,” but she released an unheard song for her official solo debut. Released on March 4, “You Loved Me First” expresses its emotions through the pop-rock genre.

Like “추억속에서 (Throwback Memories),” the lyrics of this single latch onto a breakup. The speaker lets off frustration towards their former partner who loved them first, only to dump them. Showing a resentful concept compared to the gentle sounds of her SoundCloud songs gives her solo debut a surprise factor. No one can predict what Jihyo will follow up this single with. Korean fans can see Jihyo perform at her upcoming Picnic with Jihyo event on March 14 at G-Space Hall.
